things have been going surprisingly well lately! yesterday was my 23rd birthday, and it was talene's birthday too. bart and maddi and i went up to their house on friday night and stayed until saturday afternoon. on saturday we went and ate at the mayan...food wasn't great, but the divers were pretty cool and i think the kiddies enjoyed it. i was also really REALLY happy that my brother daniel and sister katie came :) but i was disapointed that my brother shane and sister in law des didn't come :( good news: katie got a job!!! she starts thursday afternoon at payless. i am very proud of her and i told her that i no longer see her as a leech on society. on saturday on the way home from up north bart and maddi and i bought 3 parakeets...lol...their names are: penelope (female), rodrigo (male), and olive (female). they are just about the cutest things ever. i thought for sure i would hate them, but they are so stinkin sweet and fun to play with. maddi hates them (except for the occasional kiss she will bestow rodrigo...he's the most tame and gentle) and she screams bloody murder when they attempt to fly around the front room (their wings have been clipped so they can't really "fly"). she also begs bart to not open their cage when he goes to get them out. she tells him "no, no." penelope is lime green, rodrigo is whiteish blue, and olive is yellow. they are adorable :) daniel started his mission papers...i have to pinch myself everytime i say that to someone...i can't believe that daniel, big, goofy, mess-around, never can be serious, party all the time, CHANGED, daniel is going on a mission. he will make an awesome missionary. he loves the church, and people, so he will do just fine. he also is apply for summer jobs here and there. he is hoping to get the one at the air port here in town. i have my fingers crossed for him. i take my TEAS (nursing-health care related fields entrance exam) exam today...and i will also send in my nursing program application today. i am SO nervous. but things will be fine. whatever is supposed to happen will. so yesterday was the superbowl...i didn't watch much of it, but bart and maddi and i went to my dad's and the boys had steak and ribs and boy food and i made myself some noodles. i know bart and my dad get mad at me when i don't eat meat...and i'm not an animal lover by any means...i say kill em all...but i can't get over the fact that i'm eating muscle...especially after seeing the cadaver in anatomy class, and disecting a cat....i can't eat body parts. but the noodles i had were muy excellante...ha. and we had to hide the peanut m n m's from maddi, but she kept finding them last night and coming to show me the mouth fulls she had been able to sneak before any of us could catch her...she is a sneaky little sleuth bandit. she also LOVES to dance. she had herself a little dance party yesterday during the half time show. this is probably the longest post i've ever written, but a lot has been going on lately...we FINALLY found the internal converted for the dryer at bart's house...so i can finally dry clothes there instead of hanging everything up and over things...clothes turn out especially "crunchy" that way. i am in the process of looking for a "new-to-me" used car...and that is going not so swell due to the fact that i would really, really, really like a vw bug...and bart says absolutely not. he told me that he wouldn't ride with me in it...and my dad didn't help the situation by telling bart that people would think that bart was my gay friend and that we were going shopping every time someone passed us with him in the passanger seat. thanks a lot guys! i'll buy and drive what i want thank you very much. i secretly want a bug so i can instigate some intravehicular violence. i think i'd get a bumper sticker that said "go ahead and punch your neighbor, you're looking at a SLUG BUG!" lol...well i think that is all i have for you dedicated readers. stay classy, kelly "ka-POW-ski" (the POW is for the slug bug punch)
